Irish boys tennis in Sweet 16 Print E-mail
tennis_005aThe No. 1 ranked Aquinas boys tennis team is playing in the state Sweet 16 on Tuesday, April 27, at Newman Tennis Center.

The Aquinas Irish boys tennis team remained undefeated at 15-0 after defeating Region 1 No. 4 seed Clinch County 5-0 last Wednesday afternoon in Round 1 of the Georgia Class A State Tournament. Clinch County proved to be a tough No. 4 seed and gave the Irish a good test. The Irish advance to the Sweet 16 and are scheduled to play Tuesday April 27 at 2 p.m. at Newman Tennis Center. They will play the winner of the Savannah Christian and Taylor County match.

The Irish tennis teams, lead by Coach Patti Williams, were the only two teams in Region 4 to advance to the second round of the State Tournament.
